Dow Reaches Record High For The Fourth Time This Week

The Dow Jones Industrial Average, also known as the Dow or DJIA, tracks 30 large, well-known companies that trade on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq. Record Highs Set in 2015

The peak was led in part by optimism that the Federal Reserve could cut interest rates later this year. Through much of 2022 and 2023, investors were cautious and bearish about equity markets as inflation rocketed. Many records were set in 2019, thanks in part to trade talks with China that boosted firms in the index. The longest bull market in history lasted about 11 years, starting in March 2009 and ending in February 2020. The Senate reintroduced the bailout as the Troubled Asset Relief Program on Oct. 3.
